evolved out of the scientific research of its founder, Professor A R M Coates.
Mission
Develop antibiotics for the treatment of some of the most pressing and
severe human infections and anti-inflammatory drugs for some of the most common
diseases and conditions
Objectives
- Develop new antibiotics against bacteria such as
methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and
Mycobacterium tuberculosis. New antibiotics are needed to fight resistant
bacteria and to shorten the duration of therapy.
- Develop biotherapeutic treatments based on mycobacterial proteins,
that are effective against diseases such as asthma, arthritis and hay fever.
